Children's Worship Service Lesson & Activities

May 17, 2020

Hi Kids!

I hope you all are continuing to do well during this COVID 19 Pandemic.  Our lesson for today is entitled, "I am special to Jesus". It's found in  Matthew 19:13-15; Mark 10:13-16; and Matthew 10:29-30 (in the NIV). It's also found on pages 318-321 and pages 409-412 in the Beginner Bible. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate these stories in the Picture Bible. Feel free to use either the Beginner Bible or the NIV.

As you see from the first 2 Scriptures, we are all important to God.  He cares about and loves each of us, especially children.  The Bible tells us that God knows how many hairs are on your head.  It also says that God knows when a little sparrow falls to the ground. Can you imagine how much he cares for you if He cares that much about a sparrow? Here are some questions to think about:

Did God know you before you were born?

Does the Kingdom of God belong only to grown-ups?

Do you think Jesus felt that spending time with children was important?

How would you feel if Jesus took you in His arms?

Do you know that Jesus has His arms around you right now?

Can you go anywhere and hide from God?

Dear Father, we are thankful that we have a God who knows everything about us and loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for us on the cross. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

As you go about your daily routine this week, remember that God loves you and I love you more than you will ever know.

Also, I will be doing a Parents' Night Out Zoom meeting on Friday, May 22nd beginning at 6:30 PM. It will only be for 30-40 minutes. Since we aren't able to do our usual Parents' Night Out events, I thought this would be a great alternative. It would also give us all the opportunity to connect with each other, even from a distance. Hope to "see" you all on the 22nd!
